Overview

Secluded in Melbourne's Yarra Valley, Healesville Sanctuary is the quintessential Australian flora and fauna experience. With over 200 species of Australian wildlife to discover, any visitor, be it corporate or leisure, will leave with a memorable experience.

Function room and outdoor settings encourage you to embrace and utilise all elements of the Sanctuary for a total native experience. The spaces are fully catered with creative menus influenced by flavours from the Australian Bush and the local Yarra Valley region.

Event opportunities include picnic style social days on the lawns, BBQ lunch and dinners in the covered pavilions, cocktail functions where you can include the excitement of an animal encounter, 'Wake Up with the Bush' breakfasts, conferences with outdoor team building activities, themed dinners in the Brolga Room with private lawn for pre-dinner drinks or cocktail functions serviced at one of the many viewing areas for the animal enclosures.

Brolga Room

The Brolga Room overlooks a private lawn nestled in a natural bushland setting. This retro inspired room includes wood paneling, a stone feature wall with open fireplace and provides a relaxed environment for a range of functions and events. Conference participants can enjoy catered breaks alfresco on the paved terrace or team building activities on the spacious lawn. Cocktail and dinner functions are enhanced by lush landscapes visible through floor to ceiling windows and menus influenced with flavours from the Australian Bush and famous local Yarra Valley regional produce.

Alfresco Locations

Outdoor settings offer event organisers the opportunity to embrace and use all elements of the Sanctuary for a total Australian bushland experience. With a variety of areas available we can cater for groups from 20 to 600 guests.

Pavilions – Kangaroos and Reptiles

Immersed in bushland, the Rotundas and Reptile Pavilion offer an intimate outdoor space for up to 30 guests. Overlooking animal exhibits you can feel part of nature and enjoy picnic style catering. These areas are also ideal as breakout spaces for clients holding conferences in the Brolga Room.

Robert Eadie Pavilion

Rustic charm and a stunning natural setting give the Robert Eadie Pavilion a point of difference for outdoor events. The stone walled cabin provides a cool shelter for summer functions or a cosy place to warm up in winter by the open fire. Picnic style furniture and a built in BBQ offer a casual setting any time of day. Depending on your preference, the adjacent lawn provides space for outdoor activities or guests to enjoy a seated alfresco lunch.

Koala Boardwalk and Lawn

Enjoy Cocktails or Breakfast with this famous Australian icon. Here is a special experience that can turn your event from successful to sensational! The Boardwalk overlooks the Koala exhibit and will accommodate a seated breakfast for up to 20 guests or a cocktail function for a maximum of 50 guests. The Koala Picnic Area will also delight and provides a perfect location for a gourmet picnic or BBQ function.

Platypus Verandah

Leading into the serene world of the Platypus the Veranda is an ideal venue for intimate cocktail functions. Dinners can be arranged inside the exhibit. The Platypusary also features a purpose built gallery space with exhibition lighting.

Animal Encounters

Animal encounters with a range of unique Australian Wildlife can be arranged. A visit from a Dingo, a Reptile or perhaps a Bird of Prey can give your event a 'wow' factor to remember. Please contact our Function Sales Team for further information and package options.
